Week 13: "the only way is up... "🎵

After my last down-beat post, time to be positive.

It happened by accident, but on Saturday I had my first day of eating all food in front of me, from morning porridge to evening pasta. I didn't need any of the nutritonal drink supplement either. And I didn't use my PEG tube once. Don't get me wrong, eating is still painful and slow - it takes me about an hour to eat a bowl of pasta, one penne at a time.

And I need to flush each morsel with water to take the pain away from the back of my throat as a I swallow, even after spraying my throat previouslywith Difflam to numb it from the pain. So I won't be dining out in public just yet. BUT I ATE IT! And I've been eating 2000 calories a day ever since. So if I can keep this up for two weeks, I should be able to get my PEG tube removed.

And then suddenly last week I was also able to reduce by OxyCodone from 20mls to 17.5 to 15 to 10 and now to 7.5 mls, with no apparent deletrious effects. Hopefully by the weekend I think I will be able to come off the morphine and just rely on over the counter pain relief. And given how candid I was in last weeks post, that kinda gives a whole new meaning to the title of this post... "the only way is up... " 🍆 🤣
